The Employment Rights Act 2025

Over the next few years, the ERA 2025 will make significant changes to employment law.
One of the most noticeable will be the new unfair dismissal rights, with the qualifying period for ordinary unfair dismissal reduced from the current 2 years, to 6 months. In addition, indications are that the limits on compensation, currently capped at the lower of 52 weeks’ pay or £118,223, will be removed. These changes are to be effective on 1 January 2027.
