Compensation limits and minimum awards to increase on 6 April 2017

Compensation limits and minimum awards will increase where a claim arises on or after 6 April 2017. The changes include:

  1. Raising the maximum compensation for unfair dismissal from £78,962 to £80,541 (or 12 months’ pay if lower); and

  2. Increasing the cap on a week’s pay from £479 to £489. This figure is used to calculate various entitlements, including the basic award and statutory redundancy pay.
